by | Mar 14, 2023

On December 1, 2022, Convocation approved A REPORT PROPOSING A FAMILY LAW LICENCE.The scope & training plan for the new Family License is outlined in the report. Details of the report are seen below.
In addition to the development of the proposed licence. The Family Law License includes the action items listed below.
Shevas Legal Services is committed to obtaining the Family Action Plan License to assist clients in obtaining advice & offering support. Specifically for custody, access & child support.
The Parents Aid Society (see are Facebook page) eagerly awaits the license to support the vulnerable parents we already assist & support through these difficult & complicated procedures.

This report has been long in coming and originally was first proposed in the winter of 2012/2013. At last after a decade we are finally seeing some long-awaited progress.
Paralegals have been working on getting permission to work on Family Law since 2010. This will assist the public in getting faster & more accesible access to justice for the public. This will help the many parties that are self represented. For Shevas Legal Services this will also help our Parents Aid clients who need assitance dealing with custody, visitation and abuse issues. Shevas Legal Services looks forward to adding Family law to our ever expanidng list of services.
