CANADA REVENUE AGENCY STRIKE

by | May 5, 2023

Canada Revenue Agency went on strike two weeks ago. However it is not just Canada Revenue Agency but other federal workers as well.

With this being during tax season, it was felt more than other times & will result in taxes taking significantly longer. Thankfully the strike came to an end today.

While I was at the post office last week, & I had mail addressed to a business client with a return address of “Shevas Bookkeeping” and another envelope to CRA, I was immediately asked about the tax deadline & the strike end date.

It is obvious & understandable that many people are not happy with our federal government. One of the issues was that the workers wanted to continue working remotely and the government wants them to return to in person. The simple question is why does it matter? As long as they are working? The answer goes as to why some people should never work from home and be self-employed. Many managers both on the federal & provincial levels are getting many complaints about both the quality & quantity of their work. If we are paying these civil servants with our tax dollars then they 100% need to go back to in-person work.
