The Ontario Health Care system

The Ontario health care system is in very bad way. Below are some things that need to be fixed and what we can do about it.

“No. 1: fixing the crisis in primary care.

No. 2: addressing the growing administrative burden on physicians.

No. 3: increasing community capacity and tackling hospital overcrowding.”

If you or anyone you know who has been in the hospital you know the stories and  how badly we need to fix these issues. The media is full of stories of waiting 10-12 hours in the emergency department, and discharges of patients who should have been held for observation longer.

Part of the other issues in the Ontario Health Care System is that people on Social Assistance who can not get proper dental care, and doctors in outpatient clinics who are not giving ptients the proper care or listening to the patients experiences.

Even the best hospitals are facing shortages and burn out. Patients are being seen as a number, or a problem instead of a person. Some doctors are so desperate to not add to their case load that they are dumping patients with organic crises on to psychiatry and calling them “crazy”

One of the healthcare fallouts is going to be lawsuits against hospitals, doctors, and the province.
